Hello! I’m Tess and I’m an illustrator. I work in a range of media including charcoal, ink and gouache. I love storytelling, collections, poetry and music which are all themes that inform my work. I have previously worked on commissions for the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, and the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute.
I enjoy working with a range of materials and a lot of my work stems from play and experimentation. I often work by collaging different textures together before scanning it in and playing digitally, or maybe taking it into a new process like risograph printing. I particularly like the versatility of illustration and how it can adapt to a range of media and contexts, whether I am working with gouache, ceramics, ink, charcoal or printmaking processes!
