MA Children's Book Illustration

I originally graduated from Central St Martin’s School of Art with a BA in ceramics, then moved on to printmaking and eventually ended up on the MA Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.

I have always loved illustration and its ability to transport us on magic carpets to imaginary places, but also believe that storytelling is a crucial and profound part of our human existence. It enables us to comprehend the world around us whilst also helping us to process our own inner worlds. For my final projects I produced two picture books; The Tiger Who Had No Stripes is a story of celebrating difference, and My Grandma was an Artist celebrates the domestic arts created by women in the home.

My inspirations are the mid-century school of British illustrators, artists and designers; and folk art, particularly Eastern European and American, as well as our own traditional arts and culture.
