Katie Veitch
Graphic Design - BA (Hons)
The blonde, bubbly University National Champion Cheerleader who surprisingly never missed a lecture in first year despite being out every night! Katie Veitch also known as Katherine grew up in Jersey Channel Islands, has always had a raw passion for helping animals.
Although she set out for different path in life, design followed her everywhere. She had taken some online courses in graphic design for fun and had done some logo designs for a handful of small local business in Jersey, even though she always thought she would end up working with animals. Her natural flare for design had other ideas and led her to start the graphic design course at Anglia Ruskin University. She was in love with the course from the start, she made some friends for life and loved her lectures so much that she never missed one in first year after a night out or no sleep, she was always there with her double espresso.
Her love and passion for animals was what sparked her idea for her final major project - she thought it would be a great way to express her passion and with it being an ongoing issue throughout many years. The reason for her doing a design response rather than a campaign is because she felt a personal response using her own digital drawings would bring a more emotional touch to the designs. Her inspiration for this project was the WWF poster campaign by Terry Macko, the Senior Vice President for communications and marketing for the World Wildlife Fund which featured the animals facing the audience, they were such powerful images that Katie wanted to redesign this with her own personal touch - her digital drawings through poster design.
