Kayleigh Ward is a portrait photographer working in medium format film photography and producing hand-developed prints. Her work comments on the societal views of women that is regularly portrayed in the media (i.e. having the best career, reaching all these “perfect goals” - everything that represents the “perfect woman”) and makes clear in her work that in reality, life doesn’t pan out that way. She is celebrating the lives of the women who have been influential throughout her life by means of handprinted photographic portraits that empower each woman she works with. These women have had tough lives in different ways.

Kayleigh’s aim for these portraits, is to show that all women are perfect in their own ways, that women should embrace themselves as they are, flaws and all, and feel amazing, regardless of what the media tells one to believe.
