Ellen Mae Parker
Illustration - BA (Hons)
Ellen's final term has consisted of projects such as creating a 'zine of the history of red lipstick; a poster set celebrating women in zoology and conservation; album art redesign; t-shirt design; and a reportage comic illustrating her days in lockdown.
She draws inspiration from visiting museums and listening to music, and works in a bold and graphic way using observational drawing, collage, type and colour. She enjoys combining a mixture of traditional and digital tools to create her illustrations and design work.
She created the reportage project in lockdown as a distraction from the overwhelming change she was experiencing due to the pandemic. She drew observationally by hand, scanned her drawings in and coloured them using Photoshop and Procreate.
