Ethan Dredge
Illustration and Animation - BA (Hons)
Hello! My name is Ethan Travis Dredge, and I’m a gay animator who loves drawing funny little characters! I specialize in 2D animation and character design, and I adore storytelling, which is a perfect combination to make animations and graphic novels!
I’ve always loved character design and illustration, with some of my biggest inspirations being the animator Edd Gould (Eddsworld), and the manga illustrator ONE. I spend a lot of my free time drawing characters, both from television and of my own creation, and posting them online.
My graduate film is a short introduction to the characters Locke and Quays, two demons who have escaped hell. The wider narrative is one of existentialism, and two creatures trying to find their place in the world. It’s a story of finding friendship and love in chaos, and of driving away very fast from a robbery!
Whilst studying I have taken many freelance jobs and gained experience working directly with clients. My largest projects were the “How I changed Garfield history” documentary and working as an intern with Curveball Media to create mock-up advertising animations.
I aspire to work in a team in a studio environment and build my skills surrounded by other talented creatives. I’m always eager to learn new software and techniques, and I’m excited to see what the future holds!
