Victor Healey

Illustration and Animation - BA (Hons)

I am an animation student specialising in vibrant and eye-catching animation. My work aims to be exciting and dynamic, with loud and unusual colours and fluid movement. My strengths include character animation, composition and overall visual presentation. I am inspired by anime studios such as Trigger and BONES, which are notable for their well realised character movement and vibrant settings. My work explores each of the principles of animation and covers many different areas of interest.

The culmination of my time at university is my final film, Party Animal. This short film follows the struggles of a lonely Piñata as he goes a great distance to find where he belongs. This film is a hybrid of 2D and 3D animation and makes use of unusual techniques to achieve its unique visual flair. My other noteworthy projects include live briefs with the Fitzwilliam Museum and Curveball media, as well as personally driven shorts.

In the future, I want to push my animation skills further with more complex and weighty characters who interact with their environment and objects, as well as interpersonal animation featuring dialogue between two characters.
