I am an illustrator whose work currently focuses on investigating and documenting the world through drawing. My aim is to capture more than what is simply observed but also that which is indescribable about a place, thing, or person.
My final project was documenting Cambridge market, I spent a few weeks on location observing, drawing, and talking to traders and customers in order to capture this dynamic and changing environment; using my work to convey the sense of community and atmosphere there, and the people who populate it.
The drawings were almost entirely done on location, drawing directly with ink and watercolour.
