Elisha Mundy

Graphic Design - BA (Hons)

Today, the easily accessible information we have can often be overwhelming and lead to a sense of ‘digital overload’

Elisha Mundy is a UK-based graphic designer from Biddulph studying at the Cambridge School of Art. For the final project of her degree, she was inspired by the communication technologies throughout the last century. The phone is now an extension of the brain, inspired by the The Medium Is The Massage: An Inventory of Effects, a book co-created by media analyst Marshall McLuhan and graphic designer Quentin Fiore, and coordinated by Jerome Agel.

For the video piece, Elisha incorporated her adoration of Moiré pattern, striking animations and sound bites from current USA president Donald Trump and academy award-winning actor Denzel Washington to convey a sense of ‘digital overload’ and the oversaturation of Fake News within the media. For the Fake News final, Elisha also designed a pocket guide with inviting artwork, simple tips and information regarding the acknowledgement of Fake News.

She believes that it should be within our responsibility to ensure that what we upload to our brain isn’t fake and we should also be aware of how much information we expose ourselves to on a daily basis.
