Fine Art - BA (Hons)

Through art I try to ask questions about how humans interact with our environment. I work with multimedia, painting, printmaking, paper, sculpture and assemblage, using recycled materials to minimise my environment impact.

Homo sapiens constantly interacts with the world, and in many situations pollution is the result. These pollutants can become airborne, leading to breathing difficulties for humans. My art gives a tangible reality to these intangible, invidious pollutants.

I begin my work with research to ascertain the scientific facts surrounding the topic, taking in information from multiple disciplines, including psychology, philosophy and social history. The challenge for me is to make art into an explicable array of visual considerations for the viewer to explore. In doing so, I aim to reveal the impact on their daily lives and create motivation for change.
