Hello!

My name is Alua, and I am an illustrator and a graphic designer from Almaty, currently based in Cambridge! One of my favourite things about illustration is its power to communicate with the viewer, and I am especially interested in editorial work and conceptual illustration. During my second year, I completed a graphic design internship where I had the chance to help create visual identities for different projects, and I've been implementing the skills ever since.

My work portfolio is quite eclectic, and I love exploring new ways of communicating my ideas. When working on illustration projects, I enjoy incorporating typographic and graphic design elements, particularly when they enhance the overall message. I approach each brief in an exploratory way, and It usually involves a bit of improvisation, combining analogue, print and digital techniques until the result feels right.
