I am an aspiring surface textile and print based designer based in Cambridgeshire with a specialism in digital visual design.

I highly enjoy the conceptual research process, being able to form ideas from unique sources of inspiration in art, literature, and music, and put them into design and development. Typically, my designs explore finer details and deeper meaning in visuals, using symbolism and fusing them with botanicals into my creative process, which tends to take on an element of chaos with darker and otherworldly themes.

In addition, I have a personal interest and love for creative writing, reading, and storytelling, and thus I am often influenced in using fantasy and emotion to flesh out my concepts.

As a designer, I am forever inspired by the work and aesthetic of Lee Alexander McQueen, with The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Savage Beauty exhibition always being a prominent reference to my own work alongside Tim Walker’s imaginative photography.

“Yet do I fear thy nature; it is too full o’ the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way.”

‘FEAR THY NATURE’ is a concept that looks at the niche perspective of death in literary works of art, inspired by the likes of The Picture of Dorian Gray, and Shakespeare’s Macbeth – in which the collection takes its namesake from a line spoken by Lady Macbeth as she speaks of her husband’s lack of will to fulfil his desire for power.

As a collection it shows the beauty in the macabre, in gore, and in the unnerving details by taking a closer look into death and decay.

Transforming dark imagery into unique, detailed designs, it communicates that even in the darkest and most grotesque of things, there is beauty.
