Fashion Design - BA (Hons)
I am a Portuguese Fashion Designer who graduated from Cambridge School of Art.
I grew up in a very small rural village in Portugal where I spend most of my childhood before moving on to bigger cities like Lisbon and Porto where I lived for a while. I moved to Cambridge to study Fashion Design.
I design mainly Streetwear Menswear but also with a unisex touch to it.
Sustainability is something I must pay attention to throughout my designs, with specialisation in upcycling of all kinds of materials as a way of reducing waste.
Most of my inspiration comes from nature and human interaction with it.
“Lavoura” is the latest collection I’ve design and it is inspired by the old Portuguese socioeconomical traditions.
I intended to explore economical activities from back in the days when reusable materials were very much present daily mostly due to the lack of resources available.
The shapes and colours of the collection are inspired by Wine making traditions in Douro Valley and fishing throughout the vast Portuguese coast, as well as the labour in Agricultural fields which played a major role in the Portuguese economy in previous generation to mine.
