Guoste Kukcinaviciute
Illustration - BA (Hons)
I am Guoste, an illustrator and maker originally from Lithuania who moved to the UK to study at Cambridge School of Art.
While working with different media, such as ceramics, printmaking and a variety of digital and traditional tools, I enjoy exploring interesting narrative visuals with colour - giving the artwork I create a bit of life and story behind it. I am also fascinated by the bridge between the cute and unsettling and I explore that as a theme in some of my work. Alongside narrative based work, I am also interested in illustration in the music industry (tour posters, album art design, etc.).
I find most of my inspiration from nature, fairy tales, mythology/folk stories, children’s books and bedtime stories. I also find inspiration from crafts (crochet, knitting, quilting, weaving, pottery, embroidery, rug design etc.) and find that both my craft and my illustrations often inform one another.
