Hi! My name is Patricia and I'm a young fashion designer. My work focuses mostly on creating designs that feel familiar yet that have sort of an uncanniness and odd impression to them. In this particular project, I was inspired by art movements such as the principles of Vieira da Silva and Gutai art. While translating “nostalgia of something you’ve never experienced, in hope for a better future.” Whilst capturing the movement of the garments to explore this unsettling feeling, associated with the idealistic view past decades are portrayed in social media.
For my photoshoot, I wanted to capture a foreign feeling of a nostalgic yet futuristic place in time, while removing the “polishedness” of the illusion and exploring the design's silhouettes, all while remaining playful and familiar.
