Victoria Cole
Interior Design - BA (Hons)
Victoria is a Graduate in Interior Design. As a student she has been involved in a number of projects including Assistant Designer on a TV set for "Flat Pack Challenge", a student film and TV project, and being part of a small team for “Design and Make” Degree Show Project, responsible for materiality, logistics and construction of someone else’s design. She volunteered for 3 months as a Design Assistant at Eve Waldron Design, helping with initial concept design, and producing joinery drawings.
The key themes of her work are cognitive and mental stimulation, development and growth, encouraging elderly independence and intervening loneliness. Her work is characterised by designing bespoke joinery to meet the brief, whilst including sustainable materials and influences from nature.
Victoria chose this approach to the brief, ‘combating loneliness’, because of her love for reading and the ongoing closures of both public and school libraries. She believes reading can ‘Bridge the Gap’ between generations and social groups, promoting confidence and mental wellbeing.
Her future goals include working on projects for targeted clientele focusing on age, disability, life expectancy etc. The opportunity to work on charitable, disaster relief projects is also something which she would find exciting and fulfilling.
