Kayleigh Keen

Illustration - BA (Hons)

Kayleigh Keen is an illustrator originally from Worcestershire but now based in South Wales.

Her work is an exploration of print processes such as aquatint and etching, which has led her to explore tonal illustration throughout her degree. As well as this Kayleigh enjoys working with the gradient and texture of coloured pencils. The work created by this artist tends to draw inspiration from narratives old and new, with a love for projects related to British homes, nature, and diverse characters.

Some of Kayleigh’s creative influences are children's book illustrators; Carson Ellis, Melissa Castrillon and Laura Carlin. She aspires to illustrate a range of book projects with dream clients such as Penguin. Kayleigh intends to continue learning and adapting her printmaking skills and combining her love for pencil with processes such as screen print and risograph to create narrative illustrations.
