Jodie Howard

Illustration - BA (Hons)

Jodie is an obsessive sketchbook drawer and illustrator originally from the Peak District currently based in Cambridge. She enjoys drawing and design, occasionally with elements of animation. The themes found in her current work are often related to her personal interests of atmosphere, light sources, folklore and nature.

Some of the pictured projects over the final degree year include animations for a meditation and well-being app, editorial work depicting the atmosphere of live drag shows, and an observational drawing book which explores the light sources and colours of Cambridge at night-time; this book, titled ‘Habitats’, has been long-listed for the AOI World Illustration Awards, and is currently awaiting judgement for the short-list announcement in June. The full projects, and others, can be found on Jodie’s website.

Jodie’s illustrations and animations are all created traditionally, often rooted in observational drawing, using gouache and coloured pencil. She is open for work as a freelancer and is interested in many areas, as her love for design spans multiple platforms of illustration.
