Isabella Richardson

Illustration - BA (Hons)

Isabella Richardson is a digital illustrator, currently living and creating work in North East Lincolnshire. Her passion lies in editorial illustration, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create her illustrations. Her work covers a range of subjects from wellbeing, mindfulness, and the environment through to the economy and political issues. Central to her work is her sensitive and thought-provoking use of metaphor and the wish to promote personal and social wellbeing.

The most common themes in Isabella's work are wellbeing and psychological issues, which are represented in her illustrations through symbolism, such as Russian nesting dolls in an article about Imposter Syndrome serving as an allegory for concealed feelings of insecurity or inadequacy in female BAME undergraduate students. Other areas of interest are pattern design and creating sympathetic and considered colour palettes, used to evoke emotion in readers. After graduating, she hopes to work within editorial illustration for magazines, newspapers and online publications.
