Joshua Reynolds

Illustration and Animation - BA (Hons)

Joshua  is a creative and motivated illustrator, animator and painter with four years background in Art and Design at Reading College and about to graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration and Animation from Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge.

His showcased films feature a range of techniques and software including Photoshop, After Effects and Maya. With the chosen media moving forward being computer based, his intention is to communicate competence within creative software, and skills in conveying shape and movement, alongside aesthetic appeal and illustrative design, as well as working in 2D and 3D.

The work Joshua created prior to the films showcased, which can be seen though the web link and Vimeo link, show experimentation with analogue and traditional animation methods, including practice in narrative storytelling.

Breaking into the animation industry, and more specifically computer animation, is his big goal. Having worked in the 3D modelling and animation software ‘Maya’ during the course, 3D modeller has become a position of interest for him.

Although more of a side interest, painting in all mediums has always influenced the aesthetics in Joshua's animations, with contemporary plein air painters such as Peter Brown, Marc Dalessio and Kim English being inspirations.
