Ella Freeman
Graphic Design - BA (Hons)
Ella Freeman is a graphic design student recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University. Originally from France she left school with a background in engineering. After moving to Cambridge to study graphic design, she used her interest in art and engineering to inspire her growing portfolio.
As a designer her work is largely typographical, touching everything from book design to creating way-finding systems.Taking inspiration from artists like Kandinsky and Mari Emily Bohley, her designs follow a variety of styles with a specific focus on geometric, structured and abstracted ideas.
Her work has also shown great application of animation, specifically designing a living “animated” typeface as her major project. The typeface reflects the dynamism of organic lifeforms, demonstrating the movement that can be found within natural physics and applying it to type.
